K7D isn't a static digital delay with a "tape" preset — it models the physical behaviours that make tape echo musical, and rebuilds them as discrete, controllable stages.

Tape soul, modern control.
Real tape warmth, wow & flutter and self-degrading repeats — but with smooth musical filters, tempo sync and a full modulation engine layered on top.

Reels that glide, not steps that click
The delay line reads with 4-point cubic interpolation off a fractional read head, so moving the Time knob bends pitch like spooling tape — never the zipper-click of a stepped digital delay.

Every echo, a new generation
A saturator sits inside the feedback loop, so each repeat is re-saturated. Echoes compress and thicken the longer they sustain — warmer and more worn than the last.

Echoes that dissolve
A low-pass and a high-pass filter live in the feedback path. The tail loses highs and lows with every pass — gentle 6 dB/oct curves that narrow the bandwidth instead of piling up.

Wow & flutter
Two independent pitch LFOs model speed instability — a slow Wow and a fast Flutter. From a gentle sway to a seasick warble.

Hear the machine breathe
A noise source is injected into the feedback loop, so cranked feedback and self-oscillating washes pick up authentic analog-style hiss and grit.

One LFO, three destinations
Six waveforms — sine, square, saw, triangle, sample & hold and filtered S&H — drive Delay Time, Low-pass and High-pass, each with its own bipolar amount from −100% to +100%.

Stereo that moves
Stereo Spread offsets the right channel against the left, Ping-Pong bounces repeats across the field, a 50–100% width matrix sets the image, and inverting the LFO flips L/R for opposing modulation.
