DRC.

Digital Resistor Capacitor — the name is the engine.

A deep, characterful analog-modeled poly: envelopes that charge like real capacitors through resistors, a screaming dual-character filter, and a real tape echo — on a self-evolving engine that runs identically across every plugin format and every device you own.

[ OVERVIEW ]

The short version.

DRC is an 8-voice analog-modeled poly with a screaming dual-character filter, real tape echo and a self-evolving modulation core — running identically on every desktop format and every device you own.

Built around a single C++ engine that ships unchanged from VST3 on a laptop to Standalone on a phone. Patches move between platforms bit-for-bit, so the sketch you make on the train sounds exactly the same back in the studio.

01 · Character

The warmth is the circuit

Envelopes that charge through resistors, a filter that self-oscillates like hardware and a real in-loop tape echo. Analog feel as a consequence of the engine, not a label.

02 · Motion

Patches that never sit still

LFO2 frequency-modulated by LFO1, one-shot LFOs that double as envelopes, six waveforms each across 21 sync divisions — sounds that breathe, accelerate and evolve on their own.

03 · Played, not programmed

An instrument, not a preset wall

Mod wheel and aftertouch each routing to seven destinations, channel + polyphonic aftertouch, full MPE for ROLI / LinnStrument / poly-AT keys, 22 scales plus tap-to-build custom.

04 · One engine, everywhere

One patch, every device

A single codebase across VST3, AU, AUv3 and Standalone on macOS, Windows, iOS and Android. NKS-native with 678 tagged presets. Build on a laptop, finish from a tablet.

[ CHARACTER ]

The warmth isn't a preset. It's the circuit.

Digital
Resistor
Capacitor

That's what DRC stands for. Its envelopes charge like real capacitors through resistors; its filter behaves like a real RC network. The analog character the press singles out is a consequence of how the engine actually works.

A · Filter

Push it till it growls

A saturated 24 dB ladder and a 12 dB state-variable filter in one. Audio-rate OSC 2 FM and noise route straight into the cutoff; crank the resonance and it self-oscillates like real hardware instead of sounding sterile.

B · Tape

Real tape echo, not a label

Two delay lines with a 0.48 Hz wow and 19.47 Hz flutter, plus a saturator and highpass living inside the feedback loop. Repeats warble, darken and tip into dub-style self-oscillation — and follow your playing in tune.

C · Drive

Grit that responds to touch

PreGain drives a saturation, per-voice analog detune adds organic drift, and a switchable vintage noise floor finishes the picture. The harder you push, the more it gives back.

[ MOTION ]

The synth that never sits still.

DRC's second LFO is frequency-modulated by its first — one modulator continuously changing the speed of another. Add one-shot LFOs that double as envelopes, band-limited wavetables feeding a constantly- modulated resonant filter, and up to eight octaves of pitch mod, and you get patches that breathe, accelerate and evolve on their own.

  • LFO × LFOLFO2 frequency-modulated by LFO1 — motion that accelerates, decelerates and never quite repeats.
  • 2 × 6 wavesTwo LFOs, six shapes each (incl. S&H + filtered S&H), free or synced across 21 divisions, with fade-in and key/free phase.
  • One-shotFlip an LFO to one-shot and it becomes an extra envelope — more contours, no extra clutter.
  • 8 octavesPer-oscillator pitch mod from a whisper of vibrato to a full divebomb.

[ THE INSTRUMENT ]

A real synth,
not a preset wall.

01 · feature

Two filters in one

A saturated 24 dB Moog-style ladder and a 12 dB Chamberlin state-variable filter — five modes in a single circuit. Seven sources hit the cutoff, including audio-rate OSC 2 FM and noise. Resonance saturates into musical self-oscillation.

02 · feature

Oscillators that stay clean

Two band-limited wavetable oscillators (SAW · SQR · TRI · SINE), a tracking sub, ring mod and hard sync. Alias-free from deep bass to the top of the keyboard.

03 · feature

Deep, expressive envelopes

Two exponential ADSRs with bipolar attack- and release-velocity. Play harder for snappier attacks — and on env 2, turn the whole contour upside-down with full invert.

04 · feature

A characterful FX chain

PreGain-driven soft-clip saturation, a true tape echo, a modulated allpass reverb and a dual-LFO chorus (ANA / DIM) — calibrated to feel like outboard, not afterthought.

05 · feature

Tunable noise & cross-mod

One BANDWIDTH knob sweeps noise from colored rumble to full white. Route it — or OSC 2 — straight into the filter for metallic, organic grit.

06 · feature

Eight voices, three characters

Poly, Mono and Unison over an 8-voice engine with smart voice-stealing and per-voice analog detune. 22 scales plus a tap-to-build custom scale, a 5-mode arpeggiator, portamento and legato.

07 · feature

Played, not programmed

Mod wheel and aftertouch each route to seven destinations at once — cutoff, resonance, LFO2 rate, vibrato, osc & filter mod, pitch. Channel + polyphonic aftertouch and full MPE for ROLI, LinnStrument and poly-AT keys.

NKS

NKS-native, 678 tagged presets

A registered Native Kontrol Standard library for Komplete Kontrol and Maschine — browse and play hundreds of tagged sounds straight from the hardware. Rare for a synth that also runs on phones.

Recorder · Android

Capture & play back in the box

On Android, a built-in recorder and sample player are first-class engine objects — capture a jam, loop it, scrub it, export it. No DAW required.

Portable patch

One identical engine

The same parameter set everywhere means the patch format itself is portable: move a sound between platforms and the engine reproduces it exactly.

[ FAQ ]

Quick answers.

The questions we get asked most about DRC.

What is DRC?

+
DRC is a virtual analog polyphonic synthesizer with the same sound engine on desktop and mobile — from warm pads to biting leads, shaped by its signature RC-style envelopes.

Which platforms and formats does DRC support?

+
DRC runs on macOS, Windows, iOS and Android. On desktop it's a VST, VST3 and AU plugin plus standalone; on mobile it's a standalone app, and on iOS also an AUv3 plugin.

Do my patches move between devices?

+
Yes. DRC shares one engine across every platform, so a patch made on your laptop opens unchanged in the standalone app on your phone.

Is the mobile version separate from the desktop one?

+
Yes. The desktop and mobile apps are sold separately on their respective stores; a desktop licence doesn't unlock the mobile app or vice-versa.

Can I try DRC before buying?

+
Yes. A free demo on desktop and Android lets you play the full synth first.
