How to make the bass and pad from Mark Knight 'Your Love' in DRC

Published on

With only a single letter differentiating his name from an alias of Batman, DJ and Producer Mark Knight could be described as a superhero of house. With his sidekick and sibling Stuart by his side, and a garden shed as his Batcave, the ‘Kent crusader’ hatched a plan to create a record label ‘run by DJs, for DJs’, and thus Toolroom Records was born.

Founded in 2003 with a focus on principles rather than profit, now much more than just a record label, the Toolroom brand is built around a clearly defined identity, ‘all about the music’ - delivered with an undeniably sincere passion. In addition to providing the perfect platform to release his own productions on, Toolroom Records is also one of the ways that Mark champions the finest new tech-house and techno tracks and the artists behind them. This is in between playing gigs all over the world and presenting a hugely popular radio show for 13 million fans of course, or members of the Toolroom ‘family’ as they are known.

Taking things a step further is Toolroom Academy, a range of educational courses covering everything from production to promotion, specifically for house and techno artists. Breaking down barriers and building bridges between artists and labels, it’s another extension of the brand’s core values, where honest and credibility go hand in hand.

Today we’re looking at Mark’s 2013 cheeky little nod to a well known Austrailian pop princess, with his track ‘Your Love’. We’ve recreated the bass and pad sounds, and now we can’t get it out of our heads!
