UBRIDGE is a free utility used by both LK and TKFX to connect your mobile device to a computer running Ableton Live, Traktor, or any other MIDI-compatible application.
Just like a Wi-Fi printer, UBRIDGE announces its service on your local network so that LK and TKFX can automatically detect and connect to it, no manual setup required. Once connected, it acts as a communication bridge between your mobile device and your computer, allowing messages to be exchanged over Wi-Fi or USB.

Ableton Live Control
When working with LK and Ableton Live, UBRIDGE uses a dedicated communication channel for deeper integration and more responsive control.
To enable this connection, UBRIDGE installs the LK remote script inside Ableton Live. Once the script is active, Ableton Live and UBRIDGE can exchange data directly.
From this point on, UBRIDGE acts as the link between LK and Live, managing the data flow and ensuring real-time synchronization between both environments.
SIMPLE STEPS

Drag Ableton Live to UBRIDGE and it will automatically install the LK remote script. This script is the heart of the communication between LK and Ableton Live.

After restarting Ableton Live, open it’s preferences, select the Link, Tempo & MIDI Tab and choose LK as a control surface.

On LK, under connections, choose the discoverable UBRIDGE connection and connect it and you are ready to rock.
Traktor Control
When used with TKFX and Traktor, UBRIDGE operates purely through MIDI communication.
Messages sent from TKFX are received by UBRIDGE and delivered to a virtual MIDI port on your computer, which Traktor recognizes as a MIDI input. Traktor’s outgoing MIDI messages are then routed back through UBRIDGE to TKFX, creating a complete two-way communication loop. This setup enables TKFX to control Traktor’s effects and parameters smoothly.

Open Traktor Preferences, choose Controller Manager and import our custom build TSI mapping. Choose the corresponding MIDI ports for input and output.

On UBRIDGE, select the TKFX tagb and ensure that the virtual MIDI device is set to send and receive.

On TKFX, go to connections and choose the discoverable UBRIDGE connection and ensure that you select the corresponding MIDI input and output device and you are ready to rock.

General Use Case
Beyond Ableton Live and Traktor, UBRIDGE can connect to any MIDI application running on your computer. Acting as a transparent bridge, it allows mobile devices to communicate with desktop software using standard MIDI messages or specialized protocols, depending on the app in use.
UBRIDGE supports both wired (USB) and wireless (Wi-Fi) connections, ensuring flexibility for different performance and studio setups.
